7-Day Paragliding Course Itinerary: Complete Beginner’s Guide to Solo Flying and Certification

This blog will walk you through the detailed itinerary, helping you prepare for a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the world of paragliding. 7-day P1 and P2 beginner’s paragliding course is designed to take you from a novice to a confident solo flyer. Covering foundational skills (P1) and basic beginner techniques (P2), you’ll gain essential hands-on practice and basic theoretical knowledge. By the end of the course, you'll be prepared for solo flying, equipped with the skills and certification necessary for safe and controlled flights.


Day 1: Equipment Introduction and Ground Training


8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Equipment Introduction

  • Introduction to paragliding equipment: glider, harness, helmet, reserve parachute, and radio devices.

  • Safety protocols and equipment inspection techniques.


9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Forward Launch Practice

  • Practical forward launch techniques.

  • Wing control on the ground, focusing on correct take-off methods with instructor guidance.


12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break


1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Aerodynamics Theory Class

  • Introduction to basic principles of aerodynamics.

  • Understanding lift, drag, thrust, and gliding mechanics during flight.


3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Ground Training

  • Practicing wing control, take-off, and landing techniques on flat ground.

  • Emphasis on mastering control of the wing on the ground before solo flying.


 

Day 2: Forward Launch and Ground Training


9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Forward Launch Practice

  • Continue forward launch practice, improving control and technique.

  • Focus on smooth take-offs and handling the glider in changing wind conditions.


12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break


1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Aerodynamics Theory Class

  • Deep dive into flight mechanics, weather conditions, and how they affect flight performance.


3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Ground Training

  • More ground training focusing on steering and control, preparing for solo flights.


 

Day 3: Forward Launch and Final Ground Training


9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Forward Launch Practice

  • Final forward launch practice before solo flights.

  • Focus on mastering take-offs, wing control, and dealing with challenging wind conditions.


12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break


1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Aerodynamics Theory Class

  • Review of aerodynamic principles, including advanced flight techniques like thermals and ridge soaring.


3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Ground Training

  • The final day of ground training to ensure full readiness for solo flying.

  • Practice emergency landings and other critical flight maneuvers.


 

Day 4: First Solo Flights with Radio Supervision


5:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Solo Flying with Radio Supervision

  • First solo flight under radio supervision.

  • Instructors will guide you through take-off, navigation, and landing, ensuring safety at all times.


10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Theory Class

  • Review of solo flight experiences.

  • Discussion on flight safety, advanced steering, and weather assessments.


 

Day 5: Continued Solo Flying


5:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Solo Flying with Radio Supervision

  • Solo flights with more independence, while still receiving instructor guidance via radio.

  • Focus on improving flight techniques and increasing confidence in the air.


10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Theory Class

  • Analysis of flight conditions and how to adapt your flying style accordingly.

  • Advanced flight techniques and emergency procedures.


 

Day 6: Solo Flying Practice


5:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Solo Flying with Radio Supervision

  • Continue practicing solo flights, working on precision landings, controlled gliding, and maneuvering in varying wind conditions.


10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Theory Class

  • Review of cross-country flying techniques.

  • Preparation for final solo assessments.


 

Day 7: Final Solo Flight and Certification


7:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Solo Flight

  • Final solo flight, demonstrating full control over take-off, flight, and landing.
