Introduction
Papu valley is called the rice bowl of east Kameng and Lumdung is highly populated compared to other villages in the valley with approx. 1,000 - 1,500 population. 70% of the villager's majority are Christian, and 30% follow the indigenous faith - Donyi, Polo (sun and moon).
The majority of villagers speak Nishi (local tribe) and Hindi, and few of them speak English, Nepali, and Assamese. Nichho, Nere, Kumrung, Seva, Sede, Patiwa, and Taroyar are other beautiful villages in Papu valley.
About Lumdung
The paragliding site is located at Lundung village of Papu valley, near Seppa town (20km). The area has some of the most beautiful valleys and hills with a perfect and safe flying place in the world.
In November 2018, Arunachal Paragliding Association introduced paragliding here for the first time. It has slowly become popular over the past few years. This stunning place offers excellent views of the valley and surrounding hills with breathtaking scenery all around.
What to expect
As a tourist, you can magnificent view opportunities for rafting, camping, bonfire, hiking, trekking, and bird watching. Great places for families and couples.
For solo pilots
Papu valley offers great paragliding flying sites, where you can land anywhere. You don't have to worry as the locals are very helpful. Takeoff is okay and under construction. Takeoff to landing elevation height is 400m, so this is a great hike and fly site also.

Nearest airport
HGI (Itanagar) is the nearest airport (200km) from Lumdung (Papu valley). You can get a local taxi from the airport any time and a shared bus or taxi from Itanagar from (5 am - 6 am).
Nearest railway station
Naharlagun (NHNL) and Harmuti (HMY) are the nearest railway station from Papu valley both stations are approx. 200km in distance.
